Building on a sloping site is never easy, especially when sand is involved. This bespoke family home constructed in Brampton, Cumbria was a challenge given the elevated position on the site and ground conditions. Following the construction of a modular retaining wall structure, a traditional masonry construction was adopted on the property, with bedrooms to the lower ground floor, and a large family living space on the upper floors under a vaulted ceiling space and feature chimney.
