Faraway Treehouse

A bespoke tree house located adjacent to a site of special scientific interest demanded the most delicate of structural and drainage engineering to ensure the least impact on the environment. Constructed off site in a range of timber frame and steel supporting columns, the construction took place over a 4 week period, with the creation of a unique treehouse in the 30 hectares of woodland on the dairy farm. The site was adjacent to a small wetland frequented by dragonflies, so grey waste from the treehouse was dealt with via soakaways and filter beds, with a dry waste system being adopted for the toilet waste, thus minimising impacts on the local habitats.
