Bassenthwaite Lake Station

The former railway station on the Keswick to Cockermouth line was out of use since 1972 and our client owned the site and the adjacent station masters house with big plans. Once engaged we worked with the architect, client and builder to design remedial works and alterations to the existing building, using traditional building techniques and delicate repairs to the existing structure. The site became an award winning cafe complete with the Orient Express acting as a dining car. We have since worked with the client to look at options to create a dark sky observatory on other properties within the station as well as wildlife habitats.
