Kendal-based architect values ‘speedy response’ from structural engineers Kingmoor Consulting
Kingmoor works with HM Architecture on key property projects in Cumbria
“We are very satisfied with the quality of work and response times from Kingmoor Consulting, and look forward to working together on future projects”
Kingmoor Consulting joined forces with HM Architecture three years ago following a speculative email shot from Colin Aimers at Kingmoor. This introduced HM to his structural and civil engineering services.
HM Architecture is run by Mark & Kathryn Deverill who have been partners at for over 18 years, building and maintaining a strong reputation for high quality design.
Over the years, they have established an exclusive network of preferred consultants that they work with to complement their high standards and expectations.
When they heard from Kingmoor, Mark was working on a project proposal and he needed someone with Colin’s skills to tender for the structural engineering element.
“For the projects we deem appropriate to Colin’s expertise, he always responds promptly to our tender requests,”
Projects that both firms have worked on together include:
Deer Close, East of Lake Coniston
Demolition of an existing bungalow and construction of new 280m2 two storey 4 bedroom private home. Kingmoor looked after the structural engineering design for the insulated concrete formwork and primary steelwork.
Steen Heights, Grange-over-Sands
Internal remodelling of a dormer bungalow, relocating the kitchen and creating an open plan kitchen diner. Kingmoor provided structural engineering design for isolated steelwork members to remove the chimney breast, opening up the space.
Bracken Hall, Lambrigg
Extension of a Grade II Listed farmhouse to create a larger kitchen-diner with direct connection to the garden, exploiting views to the Howgills. Kingmoor produced the structural survey report to support a planning application for demolishing a detached stone barn adjacent to the farmhouse, making way for the new extension on the footprint of the building.
High Cartmell Fold, Crosthwaite
Conversion of a field barn for The Addington Fund, allowing the development of two dwellings for rent to local farming families. Kingmoor took care of the civil engineering design for the new packaged treatment plant.
